Coleman snaps a photograph of one of the more
eye-catching exhibits at Ellis Island. It looks like an American
flag when you approach it from the left.... > |

>... however, once you move to the right side, you realize that our
country is made up of millions of different individuals. Each with his
or her own traditions and personalities, but all believing in what our
great country offers the World. |

Coleman is fascinated by all the different sizes and
types of paper money and coins brought to America by the immigrants.
Here he snaps a rear view of this display. |

The front view of the same display. Early
during Ellis Island's history, an immigrant applying for entry into the
United States was required to have at least $25 with them upon arrival. |

From 1892 to 1954, over 12 million immigrants passed
through the Great Hall. During the peak month of April, 1902, over
11,000 applicants a day were processed through Ellis Island. |
